Sabi nga ni Bo Sanchez, take small vacations in a year...

Some things to look forward to at the second half of the year:

1) Pinas trip on July for Faith's 18th birthday
2) Malacca trip in August
3) In-laws visit to Singapore in September
4) Family's visit to Singapore in October
5) Christmas vacation in December

** Some changes might be made along the way. Including our most-awaited and much-thought about honeymoon.. Hmm.. San kaya? Phuket? Bali? China? Cebu? Australia? Europe? States? Hahahaha

Our First "Married Couples Seminar"

With no less than Harold Sala himself ;) He was joined by his wife Darlene and another couple, Ed and Angie Wright. We learned a lot of things from the seminar.

Here are some takeaways:

1) Make it a point to ask myself "What it must be like to be married to me?"

2) The "I feel most loved..." game

3) To have FUN in our relationship

4) The "King and Queen for a Day" game

5) To set our family's goals, objectives and prayer requests annually

6) To PRAY... I can't change the man I married. But during disagreements, I can pray to God to change his mind or change my heart. According to his will.

Week Three of Married Life

We had a sporty weekend. After bowling last night, I went cycling with Sheila this afternoon. Joy didn't join me since he didn't know how to ride a bike. Hehe.

Some pictures posted. I think I played the best game of my life so far. I scored some spare and a strike ;) However, after 4 games and joy beating me 3 games to 1, I ended up treating him for dinner at Subway ;)

Accident Last Saturday

Last Saturday, after helping our friends move to their new place, I slipped and hit my head hard =( The flooring was made of glossy marble. And because it was raining, the floor was wet. I slipped and hit my head. The impact was so hard my head "dribbled" and fell back a second time. I quickly sat up (felt really dizzy) and asked if there's blood. I was scared I cracked my head. Good thing there wasn't any blood. There was a BIG bump though.

My husband brought me to CGH. After they have tested my senses, strength and reflexes, they gave me some painkillers and let me go home..

Today's Dinner Menu: Baked Salmon Fillet

It's my second time to cook for my hubby. Ang request nya: salmon. So I researched for some basic recipe for salmon. I found two in the internet which I adjusted.

Ingredients:
salmon fillet (1/4 kg )
calamansi
soy sauce
salt
ground pepper
garlic

I just marinated the salmon in a mixture including all the other ingredients. Kapag malapit na umuwi si Joy bake ko na sya (I'll probably put some butter) I also bought mixed veggies as side dish =)

First Time to Cook for Hubby

Until now, it makes me smile to hear myself say husband or hear Joy refer to me as his wife =)

I know Joy would be having a long day at the office today. To give him something to look forward after his work, I promised to cook carbonara for him. Yes... wifey talaga.

Using Ate Betty and Ate Judith's recipe.. Masarap naman! Tinikman ko kaninang meryenda. Hehe. Now I'm waiting for hubby to come home =)

Change Status: Married

Yup! Got married last March 8, 2010. I'm so sorry I never got to update this blog after my last post. Hay. It's ironic. Not to be able to post during the crunch time of the wedding preps here in my wedding blog. Oh well.

Anyway, I got three good news for you:

1) I promise to update the blog with some details, notes during the last few days of the wedding preps (coming soon)
2) I will post the supplier ratings here (coming soon)
3) I have decided to use this same blog to blog about our first few months of married bliss. Hehe. (coming really soon)

Some Options for Our Souvenirs

I know I was supposed the pictures here. But I thought it would not be wise. I might get sued you know...

So I will just enumerate some options we liked:

1) Handcrank Musical Box from Idoido
2) Bottle of Wine Timer from The Bliss Cottage
3) Kettle Timer from July Favours
4) Gumball

Souvenirs, souvenirs, souvenirs...

With our CENOMAR application already on its way. And our invites revisions to be submitted tomorrow. We seem to be in pretty good shape, less than two months before the wedding. I honestly don't want to worry myself about small details. I keep telling myself, to let go and stop worrying. I will worry about the small details when it's time for it. But now, I just want to finish with the document requirements and scout for a souvenir.

Speaking of souvenir. We've been looking for a souvenir for our wedding. What are my criteria? It should be something practical. I don't like something that will just gather dust in the shelf. It should be unique. I can't choose partypics anymore since my sister is having one for her wedding. It has to be affordable. Last time we made computations, we are already overbudget. I don't want to make it more complicated.

So here I am, surfing the net and pouring over W@W looking for some ideas for out souvenirs. I'll post them in a bit ;)

A Wedding Ring Just Like Me =)

I have been obsessing about wedding rings for such a long time now. Finally, the search is over. When I saw the ring, I instantly felt something. One day when I was wandering in the mall, I went inside the store and asked to try it out. Lo and behold, the design fit well with my engagement ring! I knew, I just had to have it. I knew, deep within me, no other ring can make me feel that way. Anticlimatic, pero saka ko lang inisip ang price tag nya. Hohum.. Talaga naman.. Ang ganda din ng presyo. Hehe.

To make the story short, after talking to my very kind tita (who is also one of our PS) we agreed that we can share the expense so I can buy my dream wedding ring. Hoooray!!! Pagkabalik na pagkabalik ko dito sa Singapore, ayun. Binili na namin yun ring =) Haaay...

Let me tell you why I think the wedding ring is just like me (Sorry I couldn't post a picture. Saka na kapag nakuha na namin yun ring namin) It is two-toned and it has this delicate twist. Within the delicate twist, you can find the diamonds. I was thinking, it is so me. Kasi medyo mahiyain yun ring ko. Hehehe. Nagtatago yun mga diamonds. There's style, class and quality- all in an exquisite ring.

Wedding Invitation - Check!

I was planning my day when I realized we only have a little more than 2 months to go before our wedding. Shocks! So I called my future mother in law to ask if she can accompany me to Recto.

We talked to several suppliers. Some are accomodating and helpful while some are snobbish. We found good and common invites and we also found some below our standards. I asked my future MIL if we can go back to the store that we missed because it was one of the first ones in the row of the stores. There we found our invite supplier. The salesperson, Leni was very helpful and accomodating. We liked the quality of their printing and the designs that they showed us. So we settled on the design that we liked. Chose the wordings and the materials to be used. I have also paid a small amount as reservation fee (so we can take home one sample invite. Hehe) We still have to decide on the names of the PS and the entourage before they can start preparing the draft.

TARGET TIMELINE:
- distribute the invites one month before the wedding (February 8)
GAMEPLAN:
- finalize the names of the PS and entourage (January 4)
- pickup draft for checking (after 3 days, January 7)
- return draft for checking (January 9/10)
- pickup final output (after 1 week January 16/17)
- courier invites to be distributed to SG friends (receipt January 21)
- distribute to SG friends (week of January 22 onwards)
- distribute to PH friends and family (February 8 onwards)
